Live at Werchter Festival 1983-07-03.

For all of the Eurythmics' worth elsewhere, their live material is a fair share of turbulent quality - some of it is great, some of it fair and yes - some of it is quite dreadful.

'In Their Own Words' undoubtedly goes for the latter (despite excellent sound reproduction if that's of any interest even to a die-hard fan), and at least should have picked the duo (and their respectful support band) in far greater shape during the 'Sweet Dreams' tour period (remember their excellent 'Live from Heaven'?) than this one, 'justifying' their meaning by title (which is undoubtedly and typically unimaginative copywriting for a pirate release!).

Sounding more like Eurythmics miss their words large - hardly a song on this set is memorable for what Annie and Dave truly stand for - besides hopelessly dated arrangements here, Ann Lennox at her best sounds - exhausted.
